AYAHUASCA IN MANU NATIONAL PARK (RETIREMENT AND HEALING CEREMONIES)

In the Ayahuasca ceremony you connect with the universe and nature, healing wounds and scars of the soul, you learn to value your life better. With Ayahuasca you understand your past better, live better in the present and project yourself better into the future. Ayahuasca not only cures physical and soul ailments, it is also a way to obtain the expansion of consciousness (spiritual healing and reflection). It's like being born again.

    ANCESTRAL TECHNIQUES OR CEREMONIES:

For the Ayahuasca ceremony in Cusco, different Techniques or Ancestral Ceremonies can be included that help make the ceremony more effective, having at all times a professional staff specially prepared for these ceremonies (shaman and experienced translator). In this way, problems can be detected and their status known; these different Techniques or Ancestral Ceremonies are performed before and after the Ayahuasca ceremony.

You can perform only the Ayahuasca ritual, or also with all their ancestral techniques or ceremonies; you can also perform the techniques individually.

    • Volcanic Water (Medicinal).- Purgative medicinal water from the subsoil composed of different minerals and substances that cure any type of discomfort, eliminating toxic excesses. It is recommended to take it before the Ayahuasca Ceremony (Only if necessary - a natural preparation is recommended).
    • Coca leaf reading.- The coca leaf is an ancient source of wisdom. Through this plant you can see the past, understand the present and better project yourself into the future. It is made by a person who has the gift of reading, an expert who asks nature for permission to read through prayers in Quechua or Aymara. It is an important ceremony within the ritual of Ayahuasca.
    • Energetic cleaning.- It is necessary to free the spirit and the soul; prepare internally and externally, purify our karma of negative energies. Put our being ready for the ceremony of Ayahuasca.
    • Pachamama Ceremonies.- We ask Mother Earth to help us in spiritual and material matters through prayers so that life continues; just as we thank you for everything you have achieved and experienced so far. All this through a payment or ritual offering.
    • Flowering baths.- Flower baths are an aid to protect yourself from bad elements, with this the mind will be revitalized and good vibes will be attracted. A flowering bath is a very special magical ritual, which is performed with flowers and other species, to obtain different objectives.

Days before the Ayahuasca Ritual Ceremony, you will need to follow a meat-free diet, avoid caffeinated drinks, and eat a lot of fruit; A vegetarian diet at least a week before the ceremony would be fine. On the day of the ceremony, fast as much as possible and drink only water (if you are hungry, eat fruit only in the morning).

DAY 01 (CUSCO - CLOUD FOREST - PILCOPATA): An early morning meeting (pick up from hotels) and begin our adventure from the city of Cusco, in one of our private vehicles. On the way we will visit the interesting funerary towers of the pre-inka site of Ninamarca (commonly known as "Chullpas"), where we will have a brief explanation by the guide. Continuing the trip we will visit Paucartambo, a picturesque and interesting town of colonial origin (full of folklore). Then we will continue our journey towards the Acjanaco pass (3,600 meters above sea level), which marks the beginning of our adventure within "Manu National Park" (spectacular view of the Amazon Basin); and then descend through an interesting Cloud Forest, where the humidity of the place provides an ideal habitat for species such as: orchids, ferns (very old plants), bromeliads (epiphytes), mosses, lichens and much more. In the fascinating Cloud Forest we can also observe species such as: the Cock of the Rocks (national bird of Peru), the Quetzal, Monkeys, the Spectacled Bear, among others. Many species are endemic to this area. We had lunch on the way; Finally this day, we arrived at our first and cozy lodge "Paraíso" near the town of Pilcopata (800 meters above sea level).

DAY 02 (PILCOPATA - ATALAYA - LAKE MACHUWASI - ERIKA LODGE): After a delicious Amazonian breakfast, we continue our trip for another hour in our vehicle, making stops to observe the interesting life of the area (flora, fauna and populations), and we will also have the option of visiting a hummingbird garden and a coca plantation; Then we will arrive at the town of Atalaya (Port), here we board our motor boat (canoe) on the Alto Madre de Dios River, and going upstream we will have the opportunity to cool off and do a little swimming; Then we go down the Alto Madre de Dios River by boat for approximately 40 minutes to our comfortable private lodge "Erika", where we will walk through the interesting system of trochas (trails) that "Perú Amazonico" offers you, trying to find some types of monkeys, reptiles, birds, insects, medicinal plants and much more. Our lodge is in a very quiet and secluded area, where you will feel like you are in the middle of the tropical jungle, and walking in the dark you will be able to feel countless sounds as well as enjoy the beautiful Amazonian sky.

After lunch and a short nap, we will board our boat, for ten minutes, then we walk for about an hour through a very pleasant trail to observe and talk about the interesting flora and fauna of the area, until we reach a mirror of water "Machuwasi Lake", where with the help of all our equipment (telescope, binocular and books) and using a rustic raft, we will observe a diversity of life such as: monkeys, capybaras, alligators, snakes, great egrets, keskadees, toucans , carpenters, cardinals, etc. Night walk to feel the sounds and observe wildlife, such as: snakes, tree frogs, horned frogs, arachnids and an incredible variety of insects.

DAY 03 (ERIKA LODGE - PARROT LINK - AYAHUASCA CEREMONY - ERIKA LODGE): We will get up very early to board our boat for thirty minutes down the river (probability of seeing animals on the banks: Tapir, Capybaras...), to visit a Parrot Collpa (clay wall on the river bank known as "Collpa"), where many species of parakeets, parrots and macaws such as: the white-eyed parakeet, the blue-headed parrot, the aurora, the front-faced macaw chestnut, etc. They will eat the clay which is rich in minerals and salts that these birds use as supplements to their diet of seeds and fruits. After this activity we returned to our hostel and enjoyed our breakfast. The area of our lodge is a transition zone between the high jungle and the low jungle (500 to 1,150 meters above sea level). After a nutritious breakfast, you will feel and see the different habitats, altitude range and high diversity of wildlife found around this area; Walking around the trail system and near the banks, we will learn about insects, medicinal plants, trees, reptiles, mammals, etc.

For the Ayahuasca Ceremony, you will need to be fasting and drink only water. The jungle is a quiet place ideal for this type of ceremonies. At night (08:00 pm) we will begin with the Ayahuasca ceremony; in which the Master Shaman will make prayers to ask the sacred plant for permission to be in balance with nature. The ceremony will end around midnight, after the ceremony, you can have a brief conversation with the Master Shaman to share experiences and interpret the visions, after which you will go to sleep in your room.

    DIET

The first step to face this experience is to be willing and perceptive that the teaching will come from another side. Teaching begins before the night of the ceremony and medicine continues indefinitely in time. The previous teaching begins with the changes in eating habits (it is better to stick to the guidelines if you want to avoid a bad time with the plant in the ceremony). The common goal of the diet is to purify your body and that the physical shock of taking Ayahuasca is not so stormy. The concoction purges and cleanses you, so the more contaminated your body is, the more it will feel the jolt of the purge.

The diet is basically the following: do not eat red meat and the last two days it is suggested to avoid the intake of derivatives of any animal, do not eat processed foods, or irritants such as spicy or coffee, no alcohol, no recreational or pharmaceutical drugs, no dairy , no sex, rest the three days before the ceremony and maintain the diet the three days after for best results.
