We have designed this jungle tour of the Tambopata National Reserve in Peru, to offer you a broad view of life in nature, where you will have the opportunity to observe flora, fauna, culture and indigenous traditions. To enhance your Amazon experience in the Tambopata National Reserve, we will use eco-lodges, located in the middle of the tropical rainforest. Our Adventure in Tambopata will take you through the tropical rainforest, where we can take dips in the rivers and observe lots of wildlife; as well as do night activities in the virgin areas of the Tambopata National Reserve.
Why Peru Amazonico Tours?
Peru Amazon Tours is a fully local family-owned tour operator company. Our manager has worked and works as a tour guide in the Manu National Park and the Tambopata National Reserve for more than 20 years, and we put all his experience at the service of the visitor. What we pride ourselves on is employing well-prepared local people, giving them the option of development.
DAY 1: PUERTO MALDONADO - MONTE AMAZÓNICO LODGE - ISLA DE LOS MONOS - CAIMANEO
To start our tour, we will pick you up from your accommodation, airport or bus terminal, and drive you to our office in the city of Puerto Maldonado. In the storage room of our office, you can leave your suitcases or extra luggage. Then we will take you to the boat dock, here we will board our motor boat and begin our journey on the Madre de Dios River, until we reach our lodge which is located in the heart of the rainforest.
After lunch and settling in at the lodge, we will continue with our adventure. We will visit the "monkey island", and as its name indicates; the island is home to different species of monkeys. Our guide will always be explaining to us the way of life of the different species of monkeys that live here. After this experience, we will return to our lodge; at the lodge, our team will serve us an exclusive Amazonian meal for dinner. After dinner, we will have the option of taking a short night tour to spot alligators. Lunch and Dinner
DAY 2: MONTE AMAZÓNICO LODGE - SANDOVAL LAKE PERÚ
After breakfast, we will cross the Madre de Dios River, and walk for about an hour (03 km); During this walk, the guide will explain to us about the biodiversity of life existing here in the Amazon rainforest. After the walk, we will witness the beauty of Sandoval Lake in Perú, a paradise for nature lovers. Here we will be able to observe many animals (birds, reptiles and mammals), for which we will go to the farthest part of the lake in our boat and thus try to see the animals more closely.
Sandoval Lake is also home to giant otters (endangered animals) and black caimans (the largest recorded is five meters long). After this experience, we will have lunch in the reserve area. Then we will return to the lodge to check out; in the afternoon, we will take the boat back to Puerto Maldonado. Our team will meet at the port, and then transfer us to the office, city center, airport or bus terminal in Puerto Maldonado. Breakfast and Lunch
