Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick The Collpa Chuncho is located in the Madre de Dios region, in the Tambopata National Reserve (High Tambopata Sector), which stands out for its scenic appeal, and for having the largest clay lick in Peru. The Collpa Chuncho (clay wall on the river bank known as "Collpa"), is the place where many species of parakeets, parrots, macaws and other species go to eat the clay that is rich in minerals and salts that these birds use as supplements to their diet of seeds and fruits.
We have designed this jungle tour of the Tambopata National Reserve in Peru, to offer you a broad view of life in nature, where you will have the opportunity to observe flora, fauna, culture and indigenous traditions. To enhance your Amazon experience in the Tambopata National Reserve, we will use eco-lodges, located in the middle of the tropical rainforest. Our Adventure in Tambopata will take you through the tropical rainforest, where we can take dips in the rivers and observe lots of wildlife; as well as do night activities in the virgin areas of the Tambopata National Reserve.

What we pride ourselves on is employing well-prepared local people, giving them the option of development.
DAY 1: PUERTO MALDONADO - TAMBOPATA RIVER - HACIENDA TAMBOPATA LODGE
Reception at the hotel, airport or bus terminal and transfer to the central office in Puerto Maldonado, for the corresponding registrations; and in the case that you have suitcases or unnecessary luggage, you can leave them in this office, and thus you will only take what is necessary.
The beginning of our trip will be by land (4X4 mobility) for approximately 2 hours, until we reach the banks of the Tambopata River. In this place we will take a boat to the “Hacienda Tambopata Lodge”, where we will be welcomed and given our rooms. In the afternoon, we will take an introductory walk to the Tropical Rainforest, where we will have the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful scenic view, see plants and animals in their natural habitat such as: amphibians, mammals, reptiles, wonderful insects, among others. Lunch and Dinner
DAY 2: HACIENDA TAMBOPATA LODGE - CHUNCHO, MACAW CLAY LICK - HACIENDA T. LODGE
We wake up early (4:30 a.m.) to head to the largest macaw clay lick in the world, the CHUNCHO CLAY LICK. A motorized boat ride of approximately 1:30 hours; on the way we will have the incredible opportunity to see some species of animals such as: capybaras, which are the largest rodents in the world, tapirs, and even with luck you can see the majestic jaguar, the largest and most beautiful South American feline, many of our visitors are witnesses with photographic and film evidence of encounters with these beautiful mammals.
Once we arrive at the Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick, we will see hundreds of parrots of different species that come to eat the mineral-rich clay from the wall adjacent to the river. We will settle into chairs to wait for one of the most fascinating natural birdlife spectacles in the world to begin. The activity of the parrots is followed by the activity of 3 of the most colorful macaw species in America. Red, green, blue and yellow macaws gather to eat the clay, necessary in their daily diet of fruits and seeds, and thus eliminate toxins. On a good day of activity you will be able to see hundreds of these wonderful animals flying over you. An experience to always remember.
After this wonderful activity, we return to our lodge for breakfast and rest. Then we will have a walk through our botanical garden where we can appreciate some ornamental, fruit, wood, and medicinal species of our area, always accompanied by our guide. In the afternoon we will have the opportunity to kayak on the Tambopata River where we will move silently along the river, in this way we will have a greater opportunity to observe the largest animals in the Tambopata National Reserve. At night free to rest or the possibility of taking another night walk. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
DAY 3: HACIENDA TAMBOPATA LODGE - PUERTO MALDONADO
